IMPERIAL BANK EXTENDS BANKING HOURS

Following requests by customers, Imperial Bank has extended its banking hours. The Bank's branches in Nairobi, Mombasa and Malindi are now open every Saturday from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

Mr. Abdul Janmohamed, the Managing Director of the Imperial Bank, said, "On Saturdays, customers in Nairobi can now use our banking services at branches in the IPS Building on Kimathi Street, the Chevron Plaza in Parklands and at the Bank's newly opened Industrial Area facility at the junction of Enterprise Road and Bamburi Road. At the coast, the Imperial Bank is located on Kaunda Avenue in Mombasa and at the Galana Centre in Malindi."

"By opening the Bank's branches on Saturday, we have responded to our customers' needs and we are following the Bank's policy of continually improving services." "Recently Imperial Bank completed the installation of a new core banking system. Known as FLEXCUBE this is a state of the art banking solution that comprises of a complete suite for retail, consumer, corporate, investment and mobile and internet banking. FLEXCUBE also provides asset management and investor servicing solutions.

Speaking about the Bank's expansion programme, Mr. Janmohamed said, "The recent major step in the Imperial Bank's development is the opening of the new branch in the Nairobi industrial area. The facility is located at a prime site at the junction of Enterprise Road and Bamburi Road.

"Customers based in the industrial area will benefit from a wide range of banking services for individuals and organisations. The motor trade will be able to make use of the Imperial Bank's leading products for the hire purchase and leasing of vehicles." In 2006 Imperial Bank won the top Financial Reporting (FiRe) Award for the fourth time since the inception of the scheme in 2002.

This is organized by the Capital Markets Authority and the Nairobi Stock Exchange. The Award recognizes banks, insurance companies and both listed and non listed organizations whose financial statements demonstrate excellence in reporting.
