'KEY IN A DONATION' ATM FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN FRIDAY, August 1, 2008

Building on 15 years of Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, Imperial Bank is pleased to enter into an agreement with UNICEF to raise funds through the PesaPoint ATM network. This is the first time in East Africa that ATM technology is being used to raise funds for a social cause, in this case for the Child Alive! Campaign.

The Child Alive! Campaign is an initiative by UNICEF to raise funds for Malezi Bora. Malezi Bora is a Government led initiative that aims to sensitize the public on the alarming state of child mortality in Kenya by communicating simple non costly ways of intervention for child survival. Through Malezi Bora, the Child Alive funds are used to train and mobilize communities and families on child survival practices such as growth monitoring, nutrition, hygiene and sanitation. The Malezi Bora initiative also promotes the use of free health services for children under 5 and pregnant women.

Imperial Bank, which has a tradition of balancing cutting edge technology with well trained staff to deliver innovative services to its customers, is proud to be an industry front-runner with this ground-breaking ATM fund raising campaign.

During the signing ceremony for the Memorandum of Understanding between UNICEF and Imperial Bank on July 23, 2008, Philip Wilson, Officer-in-Charge, UNICEF Kenya remarked that Imperial Bank is making a mark in the banking world in infrastructure pioneering. He noted that Imperial Bank had won the FiRe (Financial Reporting) award four times.

The bank was also awarded for best bank in the middle tier category in the 2007 Banking Awards.

The campaign, dubbed "Key in your donation and help save a child's life!' will be formally launched in August 2008.
